Guest Post: Shabby Chic Little Girl's room on a budget!

Please check out Lina's New blog Fancy Frugal Life, She is the queen of cute projects and deals!! Please show her some Love and Thanks so much for the guest post! Lina is a friend and one of the best deal finders!

Hello!
I am so excited to be a guest on The Momccupation. Laurie is such an inspiring mom and blogger :)
My name is Lina from the Fancy Frugal Life. I am a wife and Stay at Home Mommy of two wonderful kids. My blog is about how to live well on less. I blog about crafting, decorating, parties, and creativeness in general! Finding great deals along with stalking Goodwill and Target clearance is my passion.
Today I wanted to share my 2 year old daughter's Shabby Chic Glam Big Girl Room Reveal.

This room is collection of Goodwill finds, Craigslist, Ross, HomeGoods, Target, and things I already had from her nursery. Plus maybe a splurge on that beautiful tea cup vintage chandelier! Read about that here. Everything including the furniture was around $500. Not too bad, right?
That fuzzy pink phone was a Goodwill bargain at $4.00! She calls people all the time from there, and we don't even have a land line!
The vinyl on the wall is from an etsy store found here. Installing it wasn't as easy as we thought. My hubby is great at measuring so he did this project for me!!
This beautiful antique bed was my first real antique purchase from my fav store Not Too Shabby, also where that tea cup chandelier was purchased. The bed has a beautiful mural on both the front and back.
Wondering about the cute ruffle bedding? $29.00 from HomeGoods!!
I found the cute toile chase lounge chair at a local used furniture store and it it a perfect reading spot!
Hope you have enjoyed!
xoxo

Use your Boobs! Lacta Drops Recipe

***Lacta-Drops.***
By ShannonD

Shannon posted this on facebook and I had to share, this was one of the few I could find. Other places like Milkmakers.com cost a pretty penny! Thanks, Shannon

4tbs Margarine (Earth balance or Becel Vegan or Becel olive oil is best options)

1Tbs oil (light olive oil, hazelnut oil, coconut oil, etc. -your choice)

1/4c brown sugar

1/4c white sugar

1 large egg lightly beaten

1 Tbs milk substitute such as almond milk, hemp milk, oat milk, - this is optional for a slightly softer cookie

1/2 c flour

1/2tsp salt

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/8tsp of ground cloves-optional

1C Rolled oats

1/2C Steel cut oats

1/2C Trail mix or granola of your choice

2 generous Tbs *Hemp hearts/seeds (shelled) or flax

2-3 Tbs Brewers Yeast

1.Lightly Grease cookie Sheet, set oven at 350C

2.Cream the margarine and sugar in large mixing brown until light and fluffy.

3. Gradually add beaten egg, beating well (or mixing on high) after each addition.

Add the Oil, Mix. Add the Milk substitute if you choose,Mix.

4.Add the flour salt brewers yeast and baking powder in to the creamed mixture. Mix together gently. Add the Rolled oats, Mix. Add the steal cut oats and trail mix/granola. Mix together thoroughly. Batter will be thick.

5.Spoon them on to the cookie sheets. (Makes about a dozen).

6.Bake at 350C for 14-15min

7. Let cookies cool slightly before removing or they will break :)

8.Store in air-tight container.

**

I subbed hemp hearts/seeds in place of flax because it contains the perfectly balanced 3:1 ratio of both the required essential fatty acids 3 and 6. Also Flax is not supposed to be heated over 120F because it releases free radicals. Hemp also provides protein.

I added trail mix for the extra fats and proteins from the nuts, and its a nice taste with some dried fruits and chocolate chips that many mixes contain (dark chocolate is best).

I Added in Steel cut... well you know why :) Enjoy

Hope you try this recipe out, Hemp seeds can be found at Trader Joes or Whole foods and other organic markets.

Sinful Tropical Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Breakfast Bars

.

This is a yummy recipe I came up with while looking for a breakfast bar for my boys that were easy and healthy! These are so yummy and my boys eat them up so fast! I made a recipe last week and was commanded by the husband "you're gonna make more right". I wanted something easy for our rushed mornings before preschool and something my hubby could grab and go. They are a little messy so a bag is needed. My 10 month old loves to munch on these as well!!

Heat Oven to 350 degrees

Ingredients

3/4 cup of Brown sugar
1/2 cup of Sugar
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup apple sauce or other puree -
I have used butternut, sweet potato, carrot, and acorn squash as well
1 egg
3 TB milk-
I have substituted Almond or soy milk for this and it came out fine!
2 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
I usually substitute 1/2 cup of ground flax seed or 1/4 cup ground flax seed  and 1/4 cup wheat germ or soy flour.
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups oat meal- uncooked
1 cup coconut flakes
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch pan

1. Beat together the sugars and butter.
2. Add applesauce, egg, Milk and vanilla
3. Add Flour and baking soda
4. Add oatmeal and coconut flakes
5. add chocolate chips

Spread ingredients in pan.
Cook for 25-30 minutes. Makes about 32 small bars.

Healthy substitutions:
If you want a healthier version you can omit the chocolate chips and add raisins, cranberries, dried apricots even. If you don't like coconut you can switch the coconut flakes to more oatmeal!
You can also add 1 tsp of cinnamon with the dried fruit version. You can see the other substitutions i have noted in the ingredients list as well.

I love to try new things with my recipes and i hope you like this yummy version of Breakfast bars!
